BOTTLE AND PUMP STERILIZER

A steriliser is a must have as babies have sensitive digestive systems and their immune system is still developing in the first few months. There is also the option to use UV sterilisers which are expensive but faster than electric sterilisers. However we have skipped it from our three best options due to some concerns regarding plastic/silicone deterioration from UV rays.

Efficient and easy to use which makes cleaning baby bottles one less thing to think about when you are juggling life as a new parent. The drying feature saves ample amount of time as it can be frustrating trying to get rid of those last few water droplets (while air drying) when you have a hungry crying baby!
It is important to use a de-scaler regularly or use filtered water with the device.

The most budget friendly and effeicient microwave sterliser. Tommee Tippee products have great reviews from mums and they do have the best products when it comes to baby bottle sterilisation. This sterilizer is lightweight, compact and sterilizes the bottles in under 5minutes.

It's easy to simply put the bottles in boiling water for a couple minutes! It's easy and costs nothing. We don't always need fancy products, there is always an option to do things like we did in the good old days!

SWADDLE

Swaddles are a must have for any newborn as they help recreate the womb environment for the baby. It takes a little bit of practice to get it right and until then some people opt for sleeping bags. These are a good option too but not as snug as a swaddle. We recommend buying a pack of 3-4 swaddles.

BATH TUB

A comfortable bath tub is as important for the parents as for the baby. To avoid constant bending and potential backaches we highly recommend choosing an option that allows you to be handsfree so you can easily take breaks and avoid straining while giving your baby a bath.

This is a good small and compact baby bathtub with a plug to empty or refresh water. The backrest makes it really comfortable for the baby. While this can be used up to 12 months, please note that many babies outgrow it by 4-5 months.

For your new born baby's sensitive skin it is important to choose products that are as natural, tear-free and chemical free as possible. It is important to note that just like adults, every baby is different and so is their skin type. Babies have different reactions to skin products so purchase small bottles in the beginning, see what suits your baby and then buy in bulk.

Probably the most used item in the first year, the changing mat is very essential part of your baby list. It's important to get something that's durable, easy to clean and comfortable for the baby.

BOTTLES

Parents are often spoilt for choice for feeding bottles as there are tons of options and improved designs that come up regularly in the market. Unfortunately, there is no way to find the best bottle until you try it so be ready to different options in case required. Bottles which minimize air bubbles are often the better option as they help reduce and improve colic, a condition very common in newborns. While the starter packs are all roughly priced similarly, the per unit bottle price differs signifciantly. As you will need to replace the bottle every couple of months, it's best to take this into account.

COTTON PADS

There are various options for cotton available - balls, pleats and pads. Balls and pleats tend to leave fluff hence we recommend using Cotton pads. You can buy different sizes depending on the area they are being used for. For instance, large pads are required during nappy changes and small pads to clean the eyes.
